Probably not the Last Temptation of Francis

  • ·         Catholic hierarchy's silence about modern film and TV is coming home to roost.

  • ·         The Pope meets Scorsese. Many are beginning to question the Pope's judgement on this and many other things.

  • ·         A Catholic points out Catholics cannot be Silent about Scorsese's Silence

  • ·         This film is a disgrace to the memory of the Catholic martyrs of Japan

Silence

Probably not the Last Temptation of Francis

After the last temptation thing I thought a Scorsese film would be off limits, but now "Silence". And the star? Neeson, the very man who with Amnesty International (founded by a Catholic) is attempting to destroy the beautiful protection of the unborn in Ireland. The preview indicates there are scenes of extreme violence. It is based of course on a Japanese novel (Catholic), and there has already been a Japanese film. Of course the setting is near Nagasaki. When we bombed that city, most of Catholic Japan died, only the Jesuits in the epicentre were unscathed. I don't want to upset anyone, but our moral duty was to demonstrate this barbarity of this film, Nagasaki and abortion see how that affected the Japanese.

My Japanese neighbour has visited Nagasaki, and she says there are some beautiful Catholic churches. She read the book several years ago. The Japanese are self-destructing; they are having no children - hence they lead in producing robots. When I was a student in London in the late '60's, I saw the Emperor Hirohito in a diplomatic car in Oxford street. However the book, now in English, could be worth checking out.

As for the brutality in Scorsese's Silence, the small bit of the brutality of this film which I have seen is alarming, so I won't be seeing it. As I am a long-term campaigner against torture, and having studied with military psychologists I am well aware that there are security situations but it can be a terrible thing, Jesus himself warned about it and the possibility of being cast body and soul into hell.

These matters are governed by the Official Secrets Act, and while in certain circumstances there may be legality, they may not be mentioned in court. The past situation with communism may have been far more serious than we thought, and when isolation is added, a person can be totally destroyed, even in his soul. Guantanamo bay is actually not the worst case scenario we have been led to believe. I say this, because people need to be aware what Christian martyrdom can in practice come down upon us, and eastern Christians certainly experienced it.

The National Trust join the LGBT bandwagon

“Prejudice and Pride”

Let's all dance to a Gay tune.

The cover photo of the National Trust magazine for Spring 2017 shows a young man wearing a sulky expression and an extremely elaborate fancy dress. This draws our attention to an article inside, “Prejudice and Pride”. The National Trust is (in its own words) “celebrating those who challenged society and convention”; or (in mine) jumping onto the LGBT bandwagon.

The National Trust is described by Wikipedia as a conservation organisation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and as the largest membership organisation in the United Kingdom. It aims to preserve, protect and make available (for visits by the general public) places of historic interest, both buildings and landscapes. Historically it has focused on country houses, and it also looks after historic urban properties, areas of landscape, and nature reserves.

The five page “Prejudice and Pride” article, written by novelist Sarah Waters (five of whose six novels are about lesbians) features six NT-owned houses each of which was at one time lived in, or associated with, someone who was (or possibly was) gay, lesbian or bisexual. I must admit that I had heard of only two of them, Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West, both early twentieth-century writers, both bisexual, and who had what is described as “a passionate affair” with each other. The sulky-looking young man on the cover was Marquess of Angelsey, and is the only one about whose sexual preferences nothing is definitely known.

The word “celebrates” is a bit of a giveaway. Other articles in this issue concern places (a farm, and a newly-acquired property); a coming TV series about the Trust; activities which the Trust has been involved in; a photo competition and a page for children. These are all enthusiastically promoted, but not “celebrated” as such. We celebrate events (weddings, birthdays, exam successes) rather than people. To celebrate people suggests an attempt at a wide smile inadequately concealing underlying anxiety: “I must convince these people that I like them and approve of them”.

Or maybe the NT has simply spotted a potential new source of members.

Schools must not call boys - boys anymore or girls girls!

Homosexuality and gender Ideology will lead to the downfall of Western Civilisation

It is clear that Britain will allow anything homosexual or gender-bending. I couldn't believe my eyes today when I open my bank's internet home page and saw two men embracing with the slogan "He said yes" and "everything you need for the big day" it's trying to drum up custom for same-sex marriage loans of course. That a major British bank should see it as a commercial advantage to use same-sex marriage as a positive good and a promotion shows us how far down the road to Sodom and Gomorrah we have come.

Schools must not call boys - boys anymore!
In another bit of lunacy the UK government following a trend that emanates from the USA, have issued a directive that teachers must not call boys - boys or girls - girls anymore just in case they may want to change their sex later in life or even as children! Well the BBC have made many programmes for children promoting gender change, the law follows the media again.

Ever wondered why the West especially the "Gay" saturated Western media is still so anti-Russia, even though it is no longer communist? Could it be something to do with Russian laws banning the promotion of anything homosexual?

The strong links between homosexuality, abortion, cloning, IVF, and child abuse.
Just why do the majority male same-sex married couples want to adopt boys or have them produced by surrogacy? And why do the majority of female same-sex couples want girls?

This Russian documentary explores the reasons why including "Gay" surrogacy, hideous "Gay Parades" with the streets lined with young "normal" families and all. Watch if you dare, its horrible but its fact.
